Contact Lenses

PersonalEYES Vision Care is dedicated to providing our patients with the best possible contact lens experience. Whether you already wear contact lenses or are considering using them for the first time, we can help. We offer a thorough eye examination to evaluate your suitability for contact lens wear and determine your best prescription. We don’t limit ourselves to one or two lens brands like many offices do, so we can utilize lenses that are best for your eyes. Our primary focus is always keeping your eyes healthy during wear, so we will choose materials, fitting parameters and wear schedules to maximize both vision and health. The process begins with an eye evaluation.

What To Expect

Before we can begin the fitting process, Dr. Spears your doctor will evaluate your eyes and vision. Through these tests, we will be able to determine which areas of vision your eyes need a little help with. You may be near-sighted, far-sighted, have astigmatism, or need additional help seeing up close. Once we have a better understanding of your needs, we can begin the process of finding the perfect contact lenses for you.

What’s Best For You

Once the exam is complete, we will sit down and discuss your contact lens options. There are many things to consider when choosing lenses, and our experienced doctors will be able to guide you through the process. We will take into account your lifestyle and needs in order to make sure that you get the right lenses for you. Soft contact lens materials are by far the most common, however gas-permeable rigid lenses are still best in certain situations. There are also replacement options ranging from daily to monthly depending on the lens. With years of experience, we will be able to answer any questions you have and help you make an informed decision.

Specialty Lenses

Contacts have come a long way since they first appeared on the market. Many prescriptions can utilize daily disposable soft lenses, which can offer the most comfortable, safe and clear experience possible. Cosmetic lenses that can change your natural eye color or multifocal lenses to reduce the need for reading glasses are also available. Rigid gas-permeable (RGP or “hard”) lenses can mask an irregularity due to an eye condition like keratoconus. For advanced cases or severe dry eye, large diameter scleral lenses can be used. Our doctors are experts at utilizing these lenses.
